SEMG Chiropractic Scan Technology

The chiropractic scanning technology we use at Low Fell Chiropractic is called the Myovision static Elecro Myograph (sEMG). It was designed by a NASA trained scientist and it measures the electrical impulses which the 'involuntary' spinal muscles give off when keeping your spine in a state of dynamic tension (i.e. when you are standing upright and not moving).

IDEAL Scan

When there is an imbalance in the spine (which can signify presence of a vertebral subluxation )these muscles work harder and thus more electricity is measurable on the spine. Ideally the muscles on either side of the spine are:

a. in balance i.e. the muscles on the left are pulling equally as hard as the muscles on the right and

b. not working excessively or in a state of 'shut down' i.e. they are in the green or purple region and not in the red (too high) or yellow (too low) region.
